The first cyborg
Luther had been called many things, recently. “Successful” wasn’t one of them.
That comparison was easy. He had waited for storm clouds to form over the city3. The lightning was harnessed with giant machines4 that allowed him to fuse technology with human tissue5. An augmented being with such strength6 that it could lift a bus7.
He had created a first cyborg8.
The difference was that he hadn’t started with a corpse. He had called for volunteers. Especially disabled people willing to be part of his “team9”.
Nobody was impressed. Before people could pick up their modern-day pitchforks, the government stepped in. They seized his research and moved it all to a secret location for further study.
